Donna Brooks Wolfe, 54, of Candler, died on Friday, June 17, 2011, at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Lexington, NC, Mrs. Wolfe was a daughter of Phillip Donald Brooks and of the late Mary Jo Hughes Brooks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Wolfe, who died on June 13, 2011. Mrs. Wolfe had retired from Parkdale Mills, where she worked as a cotton fixer. In addition to her father, she is survived by her sons, Tony Cunningham, Phillip Owens, Dustin Williamson, and Ron Owens; step-mother, Jean Brooks; sisters, Denise Howard, and Tonya Rochester; brother, Phillip Donald Brooks, II; and grandsons, Tanner Cunningham and Austin Penley. A funeral service for Mrs. Wolfe will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Lloyd Brown, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, in Black Mountain. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

    We are so sorry about the loss of your Mother. I am sure you will always miss her but it will get easier. We have known you since you were a small boy and have always cared for you.     sister,and my friend for years..we had good times and many memories together..she always said I love you,instead of good-by whenever we talked on the phone,or when I came to visit..she always said,I will never tell you good-by..I will always say I love you..and she always did..so,I will say to her now’I love you’ Donna…she will truly be missed by her family,friends,and her extended family that she cared for,and loved…Love Aunt Giz,and Uncle Doc…
