Donna Carol Earwood Phillips, 56 of Fairview went home to our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Thursday, March 6, 2014 following a sudden illness. She was born on September 28, 1957 in Asheville, NC and lived in Buncombe County most of her life. She served 5 years in the United States Air Force. She was a talented musician and artist. She loved the Lord and served him with a joyful heart. She was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church where she played the piano for the music program. She will be greatly missed but will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved her. She loved her pups Skipper and Gilligan, they were her babies and brought so much joy to her life. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister and aunt. She was preceded in death by her father, Carroll Earwood. She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Ron Phillips, mother Roma Earwood of Asheville; two brothers, Stanley Lester and his wife, Teresa of Asheville and Darrell Earwood and his wife, Tammie, of Fairview; five nieces, three great nieces, five great nephews, her Aunt Ruby Earwood and her in laws, Ronald and Linda Phillips. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Rose Hill Baptist Church on Reynolds School Road with Revs. Larry Carver and Doug Hauffman officiating. Burial will follow at Cane Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, March 10, 2014 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
I pray that our Heavenly Father will uphold Darrell and the rest of the family in their grief, and that their sorrow may be assuaged by the knowledge that Donna will never again know sorrow or pain, but only the joy of being in the presence of her Savior.
Hi I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I am a local bible student and there is such a comforting scripture at Isaiah 25:8. It says that soon Jehovah will swallow up death forever and he will wipe away all of the tears. So we can all look forward to a time when death will be no more. I hope that this scripture can bring some real comfort during these difficult times.
So sorry for your loss. My prayers of peace are with you, family of Donna.

Our heartfelt sympathies to all. Please let us know if you need anything.
Donna was a good friend in high school. I was shocked to learn of her passing. My thoughts are with her family. May God Bless you and hold you close in the days that lie ahead…Melody Burleson (Clark) ACR Class of 1975
