Donna Henneman Gress, 83, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015.
A native of Bloomer, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Matilda Henneman and wife of the late Frederick J. Gress, who passed away in 2010. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Ewald.
Mrs. Gress was a retired Elementary School teacher and a member of the Lutheran Church of the Nativity.
She is survived by six children, Mary, Stephen, Elizabeth, Margaret, Fred, II and Anne. Also surviving are Stephen's wife and children, TouSain Prock Gress, Craig and Michelle and Donna's two sisters, Ione Nichols and Sharon Van Valkenburg.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday at the Lutheran Church of the Nativity. Interment will follow at 12 noon in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 pm Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Nativity, PO Box 208, Arden, NC 28704.
Anne – I am so sorry for your loss. I know how difficult a time this is for you and your family having gone through it with my Father. She will always be with you. Sending all my prayers your way. I’m sure she was an amazing woman. I am so very sorry. You are in my thoughts.
I have fond memories of Uncle Fred and Aunt Donna when we were in Charleston, SC celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2003! What a great time we had with all the Gress family members! So sorry for your loss! I miss you all! My thoughts are with you at this difficult time!
