Donna Jean Peek Sams

Donna Jean Peek Sams, 27, of Leicester, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 23, 2001 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Lonzo Owens and paternal grandmother, Mary Sue Peek.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a 1991 graduate of Erwin High School and a member of South Turkey Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Ronnie, her two daughters, Jamie and Jessica Sams of the home; her parents, Don and Melba Owens Peek; two brothers, Lee Peek and his wife Jennifer and Matthew Peek; maternal grandmother, Vernie White and paternal grandfather, T.L. Peek all of Leicester.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Corinth Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Surrett and Philip Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends 7-9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Avenue where the body will remain until being placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
