Donna Lunsford Cowan, 41, of 36 R.L. Cook Valley Road, Alexander, died Friday, July 18, 2003, from a heart attack. Mrs. Cowan was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of Gail Cook Lunsford of Alexander and the late Grady Richard Lunsford. In addition to her mother she is survived by her fiancé Richard Cutshall; one son, Matthew Cowan and his wife Amanda; a step-daughter Mandie Banks; two granddaughters; two brothers Keith Lunsford and his wife Tonda and Mark Lunsford and his wife Susan; and three nieces. The Requiem Eucharist for Mrs. Cowan will be celebrated at 3:00 pm Thursday at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer by the Rev. Fr. Alex H. Hanks. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends Thursday at 4:00 pm (immediately following the service) in the Parish House. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, PO Box 8893, Asheville, NC 28814.

    I only had the pleasure of knowing Donna for a short while but she made it feel like forever. She was such an inspiration to me and will be missed here on earth by everyone she touched. My condolences to you all.

  5. so sorry for your loss, i had the privelage of meeting Donna when I worked at Kmart and I assisted her many times. May God help you through this loss and give you strenght.
