Doreen T. Hansbury

Doreen Tweedale Hansbury, of 49 Walters Road, Swannanoa, died Sunday, February 2, 2003, at her home. Mrs. Hansbury was born in Toronto, Canada, and was a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Kirkwood Tweedale. She was a freelance writer and journalist and had been published in numerous newspapers and periodicals, most notably Womans Day Magazine. She maintained an office in New York City before moving to Cape Coral, FL, and more recently to Buncombe County in 1999. Surviving are her husband, Theodore H. Hansbury, Sr.; two daughters, Patricia Zuendt of Albany, NY and Cathy Flesher of Cape Coral; a son, Theodore H. “Bud” Hansbury, Jr. of Asheville; and five grandchildren, Cheryl, April, Rachel, Jacob and Zachary. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Wednesday by the Rev. Fr. Andy Latsko at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Swannanoa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 102 Andrew Place, Swannanoa, NC 28778. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family of Mrs. Hansbury.
