  1. Aunt Doris was the salt of the earth. Aunt Doris and her brothers and sister where a member of the ‘Greatest Generation’? this nation has ever known. Doris spent a lifetime sacrificing for others’?..her family and her Country. She never forgot her family including myself. My favorite memory of my Aunt Doris was visiting her, Aunt Sue, Uncle Gene and Uncle Maynard when I was very young. I would go with my grand parents [her brother] on Sundays and we all would have a good time. One Sunday her daughter Pam taught me how to float on my back in the above ground pool that her sister Sue had. Throughout my life no matter where I was I would always get a Birthday card or Christmas card from her. She would always include a check. I felt guilty because I knew that she really could not afford it. She would tell me ‘go out and have a good time’?. I will miss her terribly because I loved so. She was the salt of the earth…..
