Doris Marie (Allison) Dunlap

Doris Marie (Allison) Dunlap, 95, of Asheville, died Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Care Partners Hospice in Asheville.

Born in Buncombe County, she was the wife of the late John Julian Dunlap, Sr., and the daughter of the late Porter Orr and Bessie Maurgarite Pinner Allison.

She was a former model for the Enka Corporation.

A generous and giving person, Doris loved animals and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a loving mother who was devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doris is survived by 2 daughters, Becky Dunlap Seagle of Trinity, FL and Robin Dunlap Estes (Dexter) of Fletcher; a son, Johnnie Julian Dunlap Jr., of Fines Creek; six grandchildren: Allison “Allie” Seagle (Mike Sterling), Ashley Seagle, Beau Dunlap, Nathan Dunlap (Shannon), and Nick and Philip Estes; four great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Allison (Pat) of Palm Desert, CA; one sister, Frances Allison of Brevard; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard with Pastor Larry Allen officiating. There will be music by the Locust Ridge Boys.
