Doris McMinn Layman

Asheville ~ Doris Evelyn McMinn Layman, 78, of Asheville, died Monday, May 24, 2004 in a local hospital. A native of Henderson County, Mrs. Layman was a daughter of the late Annie Garren McMinn and John McMinn. Mrs. Layman was a retired clerical worker for Southern Bell Telephone Company and was a member of the Southern Bell Telephone Pioneers. She was a member of Biltmore United Methodist Church. Survivors include a brother, John McMinn and his wife, Relma of Hendersonville and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Shephed Memorial Park in Naples conducted by the Rev. Christina Brookshire. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Biltmore United Methodist Church, 376 Hendersonville Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
