Dorothy Bivens Watkins, 91, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, in Memphis.
Mrs. Watkins was born February 26, 1932, in Monroe Co., TN, to the late Moses and Eula Gourley Bivens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Freeman Watkins who died in 1990.
She is survived by her son, David Freeman Watkins and his wife Diane; grandchildren, Allison Watkins (Justin) and Andrew Gosnell (Geni); great-grandchildren, Autumn, Brantley, Anthony and Cyleigh; sisters, Betty and Fannie and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Della, Tina, Allen, Phillip, Daisy, William, and Bill John.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at Green Hills Cemetery, Asheville, NC, with the Rev. Keith Watkins officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00p.m. Sunday at Groce Funeral Home, 1401 Patton Avenue, Asheville.
