Dorothy Jean (Dottie) Garrison, 74, of Fairview, died Saturday, January 16, 2016.
A native of Miami, FL, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Ryder Meier. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Garrison.
Dottie was an animal advocate, a lover of flowers, and she sure could tell a story. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by many. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Fairview.
Surviving are her daughter, DJ Bostic of Fairview; son, Ross Sikora; and granddaughter, Lindsay Bostic.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church of Fairivew, 646 Concord Rd., Fletcher, NC, with the Rev. Stacey Harris officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brother Wolf, PO Box 8195, Asheville, NC 28814.
Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Rd. is assisting the family.

You touched our family when we didn’t even know you. You extended a helping hand to a stranger in need ( our daughter Amy). You have been apart of our lives ever since.
