Dorothy “Lois” (Turner) Young, 96, of Arden, died Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Universal Health Care in Fletcher.

Born in Cocke County, TN, she was the wife of the late William Blake Young, and the daughter of the late Millard and Bertie (Smith) Turner. She was also preceded in death by a son, William Ronald Young, and five brothers.

Generous to a fault, Lois was an excellent cook who never wanted to see anyone go hungry. She was a wonderful person who dearly loved her family.

Lois is survived by a son, Raymond Young of Fletcher; two grandchildren: Amanda Harwood (Tim) and Billy Young (Lisa); five great-grandchildren: Hannah and Bethany Young and Kelson, Kinley, and Teague Harwood; two sisters: Betty Rice (Frank) of Marshall and Marie Lewis of Hendersonville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Pastor Nic Coates officiating. Burial will follow in Shepherd Memorial Park.

Groce Funeral Home is assisting the family.
