Dorothy Marie Earwood Stewart, 82, of 14 Red Oak Terrace, Asheville, died on Thursday, March 5, 2009, at her residence. A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Stewart was a daughter of the late James Lawrence and Grace Owenby Earwood. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett Stewart; grandson, Chris Stewart; brother, J.L.; and sisters, Helen and Louise. Mrs. Stewart is survived by her sons, Sam and wife Shirley, Steven and wife Diane, Danny and wife Joy, Gary and wife June Stewart; daughters, Patricia Stewart, Dianne and husband Mike Smith, of Madison, NC, Brenda Stewart, Joyce Meade, and Evelyn and husband Gene Graham; sister, Carolyn Penley; grandchildren, Brian, Phillip, Scott, Jacob, Jessica, Brittany, and Brandi; and great-grandchildren, Stephen, Hayley, Holly, Tabby, and Michael Smith. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Page, Ronnie Pittman, and Carroll Ingle officiating. Interment will follow at Cane Creek Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, P.O.
