Fletcher - Dorothy “Dot” Stroupe Baldwin, 76, of Fletcher, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 in a Hendersonville hospital. A native of Anniston, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Ruth Young Stroupe and Paul Stroupe, Jr. A resident of Buncombe County for most of her life, she was a great seamstress and owned “Ruth and Dot Sewing Shop” in Fletcher for a number of years. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Earl Baldwin; two sons, Ronnie Baldwin, and his wife Elaine; Ricky Baldwin, and his wife Lorie, all of Fletcher; three grandchildren, Rebecca, Lisa and Richard Baldwin; two step-grandchildren, Jason and Tony Burrell; one great-grand-daughter, Savannah Madison Baldwin; three step great-grand-children, Brittany, Kourtney and Tanner Burrell and one aunt, Margaret Fleming of Elberton, GA. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Friday in the Tweeds Chapel Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Roy Waldroup. The family will be at the home of Ronnie and Elaine Baldwin, 126 Concord Road, Fletcher.
