Dortha “Dot” Stuart Dockery, 87, of Asheville, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 at her home.
Born September 30, 1937 in Buncombe Co., Dot was a daughter of the late James Walter Stuart and Welzie Carr Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joel Clifford Dockery, and daughters Betty Meadows (Tommy) and Brenda Warren (Roger).
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Warren (Jeff), Trina Smith (Luke) and Patsy Smith (Glenn); sons, Joel Dockery, Jr. (Alice), Mike Dockery and Roger Dockery (Shirley); 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Reverends Ricky Netherton and Jeffrey Massey officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
