Dorothy "Dot" Bryson, age 69, went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2014 at Four Seasons Compassion For Life's Elizabeth House. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was preceded in death by her parents, David R. and Sara C. Bryson; and her brother, David ("Dave") W. Bryson. She was a 1963 graduate of Lee Edwards High School. She was a member of New Morgan Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling and camping. Prior to her retirement she was employed at Anderson Nissan and Ken Wilson Ford. She is survived by her sister, Helen Sorrells, of Mills River; nephew, David Sorrells, and his children Jon and Janet, of Harvard, Massachusetts; niece, Donna S. Clampitt, and her husband, Mark, and daughter, Angelina, of Arden; Sister-in-law, Linda Bryson, of Arden, and her children, Jenni Bryson, of Asheville, and Sara B. Wheelan and husband, Ryan, of Charlotte. The family would like to say, "Thank You", to Four Seasons Compassion for Life's Home Care Services and The Elizabeth House staff for the excellent care of Dorothy. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Dr. Ian Walker officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Compassion For Life, 572 South Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731 or New Morgan Hill Baptist Church, 370 Lake Dr., Candler, NC 28715.

  1. We will all miss you Dorothy. (I think I always called her Dorothy, not Dot, except when I was very little and could not say ‘Dorothy’ very well). I was blessed to be able to visit in September and again a couple of months ago, but when I was far away in Massachusetts, I prayed for her every day.

  2. Helen, I am so sorry about Dot. She was a very loving and sweet lady. She will be missed. My prayers are with the family.
