Earl “Bruce” Tweed, 77, of 125 Piney Mountain Road, Leicester, died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Hospice Solace Center. A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late, E.J. and Maggie Payne Tweed. Mr. Tweed was a retired truck driver for Bonitz Insulation and farmer. He was also a founding member and deacon of Community Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. A wonderful and loving husband, dad and papaw, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Viola King Tweed; daughter, Earlene Ball and husband Michael of Leicester; son, Ellery Bruce Tweed and wife Doris of Leicester; grandchildren, Tina, Daniel, Dana and husband Chad, Jennifer and husband Kevin; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Gracie, Jay, DJ and Audrey. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Community Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Harold Cable and Ervin Nash officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
