Earl Lee Moore

Earl Lee Moore, 80, of 189 South Morgan Branch Rd., Candler, died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at Memorial Mission Hospital. A Buncombe Co. native, Mr. Moore was the son of the late Terrell and Lily Warren Moore. Mr. Moore worked for 37 years at Champion International in the quality control division. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Moore was a member of White Rock Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Margaret Medford Moore; three sons: Tom Moore, of Candler, Wayne Moore, of Ft. Smith, AR, and Steve Moore, of Crosby, TX; his sister, Ruth Robinson, of Brevard; his brother, Owen Moore, of Candler; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Greg Metcalf officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
