Earnest Oscar Surrett, 68, of Leicester, died Friday, March 4, 2016 at his home.
A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Orville and Selma Morrow Surrett, and was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Cleo Reemes, Ronnie Surrett, Clarence Surrett and Shirley Surrett. Mr. Surrett was a farmer and a logger.
Survivors include two sisters, Carol Chambers(Max) of Canton and Margie Surrett of Leicester; two brothers, Dale Surrett (Deborah) and Arnold Surrett (Patsy) of Leicester and a special nephew, Brian Surrett.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Reemes officiating. Interment will follow at Jones Valley Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 2:00 pm -3:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
