Eda Francine Bartlett, 76, of New Haw Creek Rd., Asheville, died on Sunday, December 5, 2010. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Frank Asbury and Mabel Lunsford. She was also preceded in death by her son, Bruce Lewis Bartlett; and sisters, Margaret Harrell Keefer, and Beverly Lunsford Jones. Mrs. Bartlett had retired from the family business; Lewis O. Bartlett Plumbing and Heating, where she worked as secretary. She was very involved in Swannanoa Valley Baptist Church, where her husband has pastored for 39 years. She loved the Lord, and served Him in the church by teaching Sunday School and playing the piano. She also sang in the gospel group, the Joyful Tones. Her family will remember her as a loving and caring mother, and also a prayer warrior. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Lewis Bartlett; daughter, Lisa Bartlett McLemore and husband Steve, of Asheville; and brother, Robert Harrell and wife Edna Jane, of Goldsboro. A funeral service for Mrs. Bartlett will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Swannanoa Valley Baptist Church with the Drs. Jack Gassaway, Steve McLemore, and Johnny Lee Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Rd. Flowers are appreciated, or memorials may be made to Swannanoa Valley Baptist Church, 220 Lytle Cove Rd., Swannanoa, NC 28778.

There are not enough words to express what a wonderful woman of God Francine was.She was truly a woman of God, who loved her husband, her children, her church but most of all the Lord Jesus and she displayed him everyday of her life. She will be missed on this earth but heaven has gained a truly remarkable person. May our Lord bless you her family with his presence during your loss.   5. Heaven has gained an angel. My first memories of Mrs. Francine was when I was 8 years old and she sang at church. What a beautiful voice she had and now she can sing with the heavenly chorus. My prayers are with you, the family, during this time of grief.

  15. To My Dearest Friend Lisa, I’m so very sorry to hear about the passing of your sweet little mama. I feel very blessed to have known her.She was a beautiful person on both the inside and the outside, just like you and your father.I have prayed for all of you so many times before and will continue to do so. I’ll always cherish our years of teaching together and me getting to be your Kindergarten Assistant.We made and shared a lot of fun memories together that I will always hold close to my heart. You and I discussed our parents and families so many times and I always felt like you were a sister to me, and I miss you very much!!
