Edith Casciotti Fleming

Edith Casciotti Fleming, 91, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Highland Farms Retirement Community, Black Mountain. She previously had resided in Florence, AL for 44 years before moving to North Carolina in 2005. She was born in Norwich, PA, the daughter of the late Antenore and Elvira (DePetris) Casciotti. She married Herron Smith Fleming of Grand Junction, TN on April 19, 1944, in Washington, D.C. He died January 2, 2011. Surviving are a son, Edward R. Fleming of Asheville; a brother, Leonard Casciotti of Altoona, PA and a sister, Lenora Casciotti of Tyrone, PA. She was preceded in death by three siblings: Raymond Casciotti, Elio Casciotti and Viola Casciotti Andretta. Edith was a 1937 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired in 1980 as a Claims Reviewer, Social Security Administration, with 42 years of service for the U.S. Government. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of the Highland Farms Health Care Center for the loving care that they provided for Edith. Funeral services will be in Altoona, PA.
