Edith Karin Gustafson Hathaway, 78, of Asheville went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 5, 2009. A native of Quincy, MA, she was a daughter of the late Nels and Karin Aronson Gustafson. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth G. Blanchette; a brother, Alvan Gustafson and her beloved granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Adams. Edie is survived by her husband of almost 55 years, Warren D. Hathaway; daughters, Karin Adams and husband Berne, of Mehoopany, PA, Kathy Meeks and husband Tom, Karyl Adams and husband Chris, and Kimberly Hathaway, all of Asheville; sisters, Martha G. Kibbee, of Randolph, MA, and Edie's twin, Elsa G. Wormald, of Longwood, FL; a brother, Walter Gustafson, of Chalfont, PA; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Edie will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Ashelawn Gardens with a memorial service following at 2:00 pm at Asheville Wesleyan Fellowship Hall.
