Edith Marie Owenby, 82, of Crabapple Lane, Candler, died on Monday, December 13, 2010, at Memorial Campus, Mission Hospitals.
A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Owenby was a daughter of the late, John and Julia Wright Boyd.
Mrs. Owenby had retired from AT&T, where she worked for 30 years.
Mrs. Owenby is survived by her husband, Fred Owenby; daughter, Kathy Chandler and husband Charles, of Candler; sons, Dennis and David Owenby, both of Asheville, and Kenneth Owenby and wife Laura, of Candler; and sisters, Mary Cox, of Dunedin, FL, and Alice Franklin, of Decatur, GA.
A funeral service for Mrs. Owenby will be on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Sams officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Kathy, I was really sorry to hear aout your mother’s death. I worked with her at the telephone company; and she was a very sweet lady.
