Patricia "Pat" West McIlwain, 76, of Asheville, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Edith Culberson West. Pat loved her Lord. She is survived by two sons, Mike McIlwain of Arden and Mitchell McIlwain of Lake Lure; one sister, Gail Galloway of Etowah; two brothers, Dan West of Mills River and Jack West of Dana; one grandson, Gabriel Mitchell McIlwain as well as her former husband, Samuel D. McIlwain of Lake Lure. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 4, 2013, in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
