Edith Sarah Brown

EDITH SARAH BROWN ASHEVILLE – Edith Sarah Brown, 99, of Aston Park Health Care Center, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 26, 2010, at 10:00 p.m. She was a daughter of the late James A. Brown, and Elizabeth Rymer Brown. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Agnes B. Spivey, and by a brother, Royal Brown. A native of Canton, N.C., she resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a graduate of Biltmore College. She was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church where she worked in the church library for a number of years and taught the ladies Sunday School class. She retired with numbers of years of service with Square D. She is survived by nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stan Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
