Edith Aileen Searcy Worsham, 87, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Worsham was born in Buncombe County to the late John and Hetty Clay Searcy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wallace Worsham and her siblings; Walter Searcy, Alice Ledford, and Mary Searcy.
Edith was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She graduated Fairview School and worked at Henn's Plant Farm for many years. She was a member of Fletcher First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two sons; Glenn "Whitey" Worsham and his wife Stephanie of Fletcher and Charles Worsham of Fletcher; two sisters, Nancy Searcy and Lena Brooks; one grandson, Daniel Coin and his wife, Kelly; one great granddaughter, Riley Coin; several cousins, nieces, and nephews and her beloved dog, Willy.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Fletcher First Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Wilkie officiating. Interment will follow at Hooper's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Church and at other times the home of her son, Whitey, on Shady Grove Lane, Fletcher.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fletcher First Baptist Church, 5 Cane Creek Road, Fletcher, NC 28732.
Whitey and Charles, We are so sorry for your loss. We are going to miss her deeply. But comfort in the fact she is not suffering any longer and is with Wallace, Grandpa, Grandma, Walter, Mary Lula, Mom, my Dad and Claude. She will forever be with you and watching over you. God bless you all.

Y sincere condolences to the family and friends of Edith Worsham. The death of a loved one can bring many tears and pain. Our prayers are with you, Glenn and Charles, and your family. I am so sorry you are parted from your mother. Aunt Edith was one of the most thoroughly gentle and kind persons I’ve ever known. She will always be with us in our hearts.
