Edna Walker Brittain

Edna Walker Brittain Fairview~ Edna Walker Brittain, 81, of Fairview, died Monday, September 3, 2007 at Aston Park Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Thelma “Tee” Hamby Walker. Edna was also preceded in death by her husband, John V. Brittain, who died in 2001. She had lived in Black Mountain and retired in 1986 from Kearfott-Singer with 30 years of service before moving to Fairview. She is survived by her daughter, Linda B. Woodward of Fairview; two granddaughters, Olivia Lee Martin and her husband, Bryan, of Arden and Millicent Ann Porter and her husband, Edward, of Lake Lure. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 8, 2007, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville. The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Edna’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association/WNC Chapter, 31 Col-lege Place, Suite D320, Asheville, NC 28801-2644. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road is in charge of the arrangements.
