Edward Clarence Shelton, 81, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022.
Mr. Shelton was born July 12, 1940, in Madison County to the late Clarence and Virgie Tweed Shelton. He was a retired machinist and he also was a truck driver and a school bus driver for the Buncombe County School System. He was a member of Leicester Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Young Shelton; daughter Teresa Joyce Shelton Miller; sons, Frederick E. Shelton (Martha), Ronnie B. Shelton (Paula) and Danny Doan (Jane); grandchildren, Wesley, Destonie, Latesha, Dennis Doan and Leah Lavitnas (Jason); great-grandchildren, Bryson Buckner, Wyatt Buckner, Luke Lavitnas and Gabriel Doan; and sisters, Barbara Joyner and Alma Jarvis. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Doan, and daughter, Grace Ducanto.
Viewing will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue followed by a service at 4:00 p.m.
