Edward S. Prince, 89, formerly of 157 Arthur Road, Malvern Hills, Asheville, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Fleshers Fairview Nursing Center.
Mr. Prince was born in Columbia, SC and was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Margaret Jean Baker Prince, and by his wife, Marguerite Lewis Prince, who died in 1990. He was an Army veteran and a retired Captain with the Asheville Fire Department. He was a member of Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Seay and her husband Mike of Sutton Forest, NSW, Australia, three grandchildren, Leslie Seay, Michael Seay, and Jill Seay and a great-grandson Jean Seay, all of Sidney, Australia.
A memorial service will be at 4:00 pm Saturday, March 29, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas B. Tilley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church, 2 Bear Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
Ed was a very dear friend of our family for a lot of years. He will be missed.

Barbara, Priscilla called Tuesday to tell me about Ed. I was so sorry to hear he had died. I have so many happy memories of him and your mother. Ruth said I just missed you tonight when I called.
