Charles and I were very saddened to hear about Ed’s passing. When my Dad was very ill in 1987(unable to walk very far with his oxygen) Ed came out to my car at Eckerd’s on Merrimon & fitted my Dad with his glasses. Ed was a fine & caring person. Our deepest sympathy
goes to Jean & the rest of the family. Charles & Jean Gentry

It is with great sadness to hear that Ed has passed away. I considered both Bill and Ed to be the most truest Friends that I have ever had. Our friendship started back in 1980 when I met Bill at Durham Tech where we both attend the opticianry school. our friendship continue to grow after the graduation and getting to meet Ed when we attended the Optician Covention in Greensboro. Ed and Bill always had something positive to say to everybody. I couldn’t get over how both of them Love and care about the Optician Profession . When I was sometimes down about the optician apprentice School that I started back in 1991 in Charlotte,nc, they both continue to encourage me to keep it going. I give both of them full credit for the success of the program because of there support and encouragement during that time. You will never find to men who care more about their profession in North Carolina than those two. The Profession of Opticanry in North Carolina has lost two wonderful and great optians ,and I have lost two of the truest friends, a person could ever have. I know Ed and Bill are in a better place now , I look forward seeing them both again some day. My prayers are with you and your family. May God Bless you and comfort you during this time. If I can be of any help please don’t hesitate to call me.
with sincere love, Bill Brock
