Edythe Ida Hawkins, 93, of the Brian Center, Weaverville, formerly of Wedgewood Lane, Asheville, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, in an Asheville hospital.

Mrs. Hawkins was born in Attica, Kansas, and was a daughter of the late Gustav Adolph and Rachel Young Keoppen. She was married to Clifton E. Hawkins who died in 1975.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Rice of Livingston, TX; one son, Marvin Hawkins of Asheville; two sisters, Esther and Frances; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Minneapolis, KS.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
