Asheville, NC ~ Effie Marie Angel, 82, of Fairview, died February 12, 2011 at the Elizabeth House.
Mrs. Angel was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Homer and Daisy Matthews Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Crawford G. Angel.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry C. Angel and his wife, Judy, of Hendersonville, Larry Angel of Leicester and Tim Angel and his wife, Laura, of Canton; a sister, Joyce Banks; three brothers, Clinton Jones, Don Jones and Ray Jones; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home East Asheville on Tunnel Road. Burial will follow at Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 14, 2011 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Groce Funeral Home East Asheville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.

We were saddened to hear of Marie’s passing. She was a special person and we loved to visit her when we came to Asheville. She always made us laugh. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We sure wish we were able to be there for her visitation and service.
