Eilleen Flynn Rowe, 83, of 7 Carjen Ave., Asheville, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at her residence. Born in Indiana, Mrs. Rowe was the daughter of the late Leonard Earl Flynn and Eva Belle McCoy Flynn. Mrs. Rowe is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Dorsey Rowe; her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Rick Spangler of Winston-Salem, NC, Vicki Rowe-Currence and David Currence of Asheville, Marcia and Mark Sherwin of Oakton, VA, and Lisa and Scott Ralls of New Bern, NC; brothers, Leonard Flynn of Tallahassee, FL and Robert Flynn of Ft. Worth, TX; and grandchildren Charlotte, Anne, Richard and Elizabeth Spangler, Ansley, Jordan and Liza Sherwin, and Benjamin and Lucas Ralls. Mrs. Rowe was a registered nurse, and worked as a nursing instructor at A.B. Tech for over 13 years. Mrs. Rowe was a devoted member of First Baptist Church for 53 years, where she taught Sunday school, served as a life deacon and as a Women's Missionary Union director. She combined her faith and talents to help found the WNC Slavic Ministries and to volunteer for the Red Cross. A memorial service for Mrs. Rowe will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Guy Sayles officiating. Her family will receive friends at a reception in the church Atrium following the service. Memorials may be made to Care Partners Hospice Care or First Baptist Church "Faith You Can See."
