Elaine Cole Collins

Lillian Elaine Cole Collins, 84, of Weaverville and formerly of Beaverdam, N. Asheville, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018, after a brief illness. Born in Spartanburg, SC, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Howard Collins, their son, Darryl Reed Collins, her beloved parents, CG Cole and Genevieve Cole, and her brothers, Harold, Jimmy, and Jerry Cole. Mrs. Collins worked as a telephone operator for Southern Bell before her children were born. She leaves behind her sister, Judy Cole Davis of Fort Wayne, IN; her children, Stephen Collins of Cape Canaveral, FL, Janet (Aaron) Kowalczyk of Bayville, NJ, and Cyndi Collins of Weaverville; her grandchildren, Davina and Leia Amiri of NJ, Deanna and Stephen Collins of FL, and Chad Collins and Caitlyn Clopton, both of Asheville; two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Rhythm; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. We will always carry your memory in our hearts. Funeral services for Mrs. Collins will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lewis Memorial Park.
