Elene S. Jenkins

Elene Stiles Jenkins, 76, died Thursday, February 15, 2007, at her home, 78 Oak Hill Road, Candler. Mrs. Jenkins was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Edgar F. and Mattie Montgomery Stiles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Edward Jenkins, who died May 9, 2006, and by a son, Russell Edward Jenkins, who died September 29, 1972. She was retired from Ingle’s Markets. Surviving are a daughter, Diane Bailey of Dallas, GA; two sons, Bruce S. Jenkins and his wife, Diane, of Kernersville and Steven D. Jenkins and his wife, Mellody, of Hiram, GA; two sisters, Carmen Parham of Baskerville, VA and Carolyn Bobbitt of Asheville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
