Elizabeth "Lib" Ball Patchett, 89, of 21 Pleasant Ridge Drive, died Saturday, October 31, 2009, at her home.
Mrs. Patchett was a native of Marshall and was a daughter of the late Clement and Lilly Freeman Ball. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Mayonna Silvers, Edith Steele, Louise Williams, Bellzora Sams, Jessie Roberts, Sadie Lindsey, Ruth Ball and Bertie Ball, and brothers, Bill, Joe Dee, and Willard Ball.
Mrs. Patchett was a graduate of Marshall High School and the Memorial Mission Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for a number of years in the Newborn Nursery at Memorial Mission.
She is survived by her husband, H.W. "Pat" Patchett; daughter, Judy Goforth and husband, Bill, of Asheville; son Jack Pegg of Candler; four grandchildren, Michael Goforth (Kim), Donna Wingo (Chuck), Sandy LaFrance (John), and Sharon Dotson (Chip); eight great-grandchildren, Tyler Goforth, Samantha and Dillon Wingo, Hannah and Rachel Dotson, and Jack, Claire and Megan LaFrance; one sister, Pearl Lee Riddle and one brother, Newton Ball.
The family also appreciates special friends and caregivers, Shelia Allen, Carmen McDowell, Mary Pride and Mary Carroll.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
I loved Lib so much. I have so many
wonderful memories of her and I will
miss her.
Lib, For sixty years you lite up my life.
I hope and pray you and Mother are together. I will always think of and miss you.

As I sit here and give thanks for having known and been a part of my Aunt Lib’s life, I remember what an incredible lady she was.. vivacious, outspoken, witty, so full of life …and loved so dearly by all her family…

I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Lib, she was a terrific lady. I loved her alot, I only wish that I would have met her earlier when I was growing up, I know I missed out on alot. Everytime we spent time together we just laughed & laughed. She will be missed. Many thoughts & prayers to the family.
