Asheville ~ Elizabeth V. (Betty) Szuta, 84, of Asheville died Monday, June 4, 2007.
Miss. Szuta was the daughter of the late Bruno and Veronica Szuta. She was preceded in death by her brothers Stanley, John, Frank, Bruno and a sister, Euphenia. Miss. Szuta was a veteran serving as a Second Lieutenant in Japan during World War II. She was a life time member of the VFW Post 4781, Ocala, Fl.
She is survived by cousins Marge and Walt Kozacki of Fletcher, NC., Walter A. Guzowski of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. and Dorothy Anderson of Rome, NY.
The family would like to thank the staff of Arbor Terrace, Caring Hands, Hospice and St. Barnabas RC Church for their loving support.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday, June 8, 2007 at St. Barnabas RC Church in Arden, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Solace Center, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813 or to The Alzheimer’s Association, 31 College Place, Suite D 320, Asheville, NC 28801.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian in Arden is assisting the family.

Please accept my condolences for the loss of this dear lady. Although we became acquainted for only a short time during her recent illness, Betty’s deep beauty and sweet nature was ever present, and I know she will be missed very much by those closest to her, whether family, friend or caregiver.
