Elizabeth Nell Henson

Mrs. Henson was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Otis James and Lillian Baumgartner Robinson, Sr. She was married to the late Marvin Henson and was also preceded in death by a brother, Otis James Robinson, Jr. She was a former employee of Akzona and she attended Long Branch Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Sherian Blake and Janice Boone of Candler and Rhonda Carver of Canton; two sons, Roger Dale Henson and Douglas Keith Henson, both of Candler; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Scott officiating. Burial will be at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Betty Nell and I graduated in 1952 from Candler High School. We grew up together and were high school friends. Your mother was quite a sport and very tough! We haven’t seen each other much since school but I still treasure our friendship.
