Ellen Perkins Wallen, 76, of 12 Pinewood Place, Asheville, died Monday, January 26, 2004, at the Hospice Solace Center. Mrs. Wallen was a native of Oliver Springs, TN, and was a daughter of the late Theodore and Margaret Lloyd Perkins. She was married to Jack E. Wallen, Sr., who died in 1992. She is survived by two sons, Jack E. Wallen, Jr. of Fairview and Daniel L. Wallen of Etowah; two granddaughters Linda Rudisill and Christa Wallen; and an aunt Delphia Wallen. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Jack Daniell officiating. Those who wish to pay respects may come by Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
