Elveta Cole Earley

Elveta Cole Earley, 97, of Candler, died Sunday, March 19, 2017. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Ed and Nancy Hutchinson Cole. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Earley, son William Earley, daughter Patricia Roberts, sisters Aretha Harrell, Lois Franklin, Azalee Burton, Gretchen Long and Mattie Earley, and brother Roy Cole. Mrs. Earley worked for AKZO Corp., and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her son, Robert Earley and wife Carol. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Veranita Alvord officiating. Private burial will be at Hice Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Frances Asbury United Methodist Church, PO Box 67, Candler NC 28715.
