Elzie Lee Baker

Mr. Baker was a son of the late Henry and Maggie Baker of Tipton, GA, and was an Army veteran of WW II. He retired from Buncombe Construction Company.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nellie Wright Baker; a step-son, James Hudson of Sun City West, AZ; two sisters, Moneta Burgis of St. Augustine, FL and Cortez Del Lldano of Tampa, FL; a brother, Ralph Baker of Moultrie, GA, and an aunt, Lois Baker of Moultrie.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at Gashes Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Pierce officiating.
The family will greet friends after the service at the cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Kitchen Ministry of Oakley Baptist Church, 70 Fairview Avenue, Asheville, NC 28803.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
Eliza was a good man,and loving husband and will be missed very much in Oakley
Uncle Elzie was and will always be one of my favorites. He always took such good care of Nellie even when he wasn’t much able to. I know in my heart he is with loved ones that have already go on. He will be missed. God be with Nellie now.
