Emily Alva Dalton Shelton, 83, of 1914 Old Haywood Road, Asheville, died Monday, October 7, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Shelton was born in Macon County, was a daughter of the late John and Ada Gibson Dalton, and was married to Ralph E. Shelton who died in 1992. She was a former bookkeeper for Farmers Federation and for Belk’s Department Store.
She is survived by one son, Richard E. Shelton of San Diego, CA; two grandsons, Ian and Zachary Shelton; and a sister, Helen Morgan of Franklin.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Franklin, with the Rev. Shawn Edwards officiating.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
