  3. There is no question that Emily was loved and cherished by many. She was incredibly smart and talented. We will never understand the depth of pain she held in secret, but she is finally free of that pain. She is at perfect peace. Rest sweet girl.

  9. Em was the sweetest girl if ever known. She didn’t care what anyone thought about her, she loved the people everyone would ignore. She was a light in so many people’s lives. I love her so much and I already miss her terribly. No one will ever compare to my girl, she was one of the greatest spirits I think I’ll ever see. I love you Emmy, and I’m very sorry to the family. Our world lost grace Wednesday, but I know she’d rather have us loving her happily than crying over her. Love, Kat.

  21. Emily was a special, special friend to our daughter Elle. Elle so admired her spunk despite adversity, her uncanny brilliance and her feel for others. We can not imagine your loss. We hope Emily may feel the peace and freedom she yearned for and believe now she can do anything! She belongs ‘among the wildflowers… Somewhere (she) can be free, far away from (her) worries and troubles’.

  31. Emily. I think about you everyday. I knew you for three moths and in that time you made one of the biggest impacts on me. I’m only just now gathering the courage to write here and I hope you read it. I love you. You are still one of my best friends and I hope that I see you so soon.

  33. It’s been over seven years. This page is just about the only trace of Emily I could find on the internet. The photo surprised me: I had forgotten her face. I don’t know why I’m writing this; don’t know if there’s anyone left who will see it, or care. We weren’t close. She was my friend, but in truth I barely knew her. I don’t honestly know why her death affected me so much, and still affects me now. Again, I don’t know what my point is. I guess I just wanted to say I still remember. I got a tattoo a few years ago, with her initials and the words “Defy Fear.” As long as I’m alive, there will still be a trace of Emily in the world. She didn’t get to live much of her life, but in a way, she’s still a part of mine. I don’t know whether she or anyone else would be happy to know that, but there it is. She’s not gone.
