Emily M Dotson 17 of Asheville, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009.
Emily is survived by her mother, Kimberly Moffat Campbell and husband Roger; two sisters, Sandi Dotson and Rebecca Campbell, of Asheville; her grandmother, Linda Laney Moffat Eagle and her husband Kenny, of Knox, IN; great grandfather, Parnell Carter; aunts and uncles, Richie and Sonya Moffat, Tammy and Joe Luppino, Joel Moffat, Don and Betty Huntsinger, Charles and Frances Hess, the late Barbara Costello and husband Bill, and Stayce and Sean Pressley; cousins, Dallas Moffat, Alyssa and Andrea Luppino, Brittany and Summer Pressley and Kenny Flores.
Emily was preceded in death by her grandfather, Joseph Richard Moffat, and her great-grandmother, Louise Laney Carter.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Gasperson officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

We are glad God let Miss Emmie be a part of our lives.
I wanted to tell you how sorry I was about Emily, she was such a special girl who was so loved. I know how much my kids enjoyed being around here when we were in town. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Emmy had such a special place in our hearts. God truly has another special angel. She will be missed here.

Emmy was my best buddy, best friend, and so much more. She always made me smile. Emily was a sister to me. She was everyone’s friend. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. I loved it when she would laugh and I would play with her! I love Emmy so much! We miss you Emmy!

We love you all and will truly miss seeing Emmy when we come to visit. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I am sure Mr. Richard greeted her with a big hug as she ran to his arms.
Dear Kim, It seems as though you’ve been dealt more than your fair share of grief in this life. But God never gives us more than he knows we can handle and he promises in Hebrews 13:5 ‘…I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.’ I love ya and I’ll be praying for you.
Maybe God is the only one who knows your sorrow, but He is not the only one who loves you. Our love and prayers are for you. Sorry we couldn’t be nearer at this time.
Emily was a beautiful young lady and I am so glad to have know her. Linda, you and the entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the service- my husband’s grandfather is also having his funeral today. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you.

I remember so well when this beautiful girl was born. Richie used to bring her to visit me at Reynolds and I got to hold her. I know how much you all loved her. There is a new angel in the choir in heaven today. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Gardner and I are praying for you right now, as I know your grief is great. I know God is comforting you and He will see you through this hard time. We were sorry we found out until the day after the funeral, as we would have been there to support you. Emily touched so many lives and God used her to bring joy to everyone she came in contact with. She certainly touched my life in a special way. We loved her and we love you dearly!
