EMILY ROGERS WATTS CANDLER – Emily Rogers Watts, 83, of Muster Ground Hill Rd., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Fred and Jennie Rutherford Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. W. Alonzo Watts, by her son, William Alonzo Watts, Jr., and by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Mrs. Watts was a member of Open Bible Church. She is survived by a daughter, Emily Morris and husband Martin of Candler; 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. A funeral service for Mrs. Watts will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Reverends David Glenn, Marvin Watts, and Robert Elliott officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

  8. Mrs. Watts was in the Solace center the same time as my Dad. I met a lot of the family and they were a blessing to me. I know Emily was loved deeply and will be missed. My sympathy goes out to the family. I hope she’s met my Dad and Mom in heaven by now. My prayers go out to the family.
