  1. Our Thoughts and Prayers go out to the family. I used to work at the nursing home where Vernelle lived. She was a huge part of my family. My husband and I called her mom and she was granny to my kids. I remember how she loved to help when we cooked, she was always Dale’s (my husband) assistant. She will be greatly missed. My heart aches to know when I go to visit she wont be there. If you need anything please dont hesitate to let me know and I will do all I can to help. God Bless Your Family.

  11. I loved Mrs. vernelle so much . Her friendship and the example she set with her life means so much. Her life was a living testament for the Lord. What a special BLESSING she was to all who knew her . I enjoyed each and every day I got to spend with her . She always made me feel good about myself. She always praised the Lord and encouraged others to do the same. She was a very special and wonderful person and will forever remain in my heart until I get the pleasure of meeting her in heaven. 12. Margaret, I just read about your mother’s passing. I am so sorry. I know how you must be feeling. I lost my mother back in January and it is a struggle everyday. I always enjoyed spending time and talking to your mother when I lived in the apartment. She was such a sweet, dear lady. Love you all. Penny

  13. Margaret, I was so sorry to read of your mother’s passing today. Vernelle taught me in Sunday school and Bible school many years ago when your Grandfather Hall was the minister at Sardis Methodist church. She and your grandparents set such high standards for all of us and helped so many of us as we grew through our teen years. I will always be thankful that I was blessed to have had your mother and grandparents in my life.

  14. I was so saddened to hear of Vernelle’s death. I have many fond memories of Vernelle and my mother, Vergie Stubbs. Vernelle was a wonderful friend to my mother. They had many good times attending those teacher’s meeting for NAE, etc. During mother’s last two years of life she recounted some of those good times to me as we shared our life story. I also remember Rev. & Mrs. Hall, Vernelle’s mother and father. He, especially, was very important to me in my formative years. May God be very near to you during this time. And may you feel his presence as you remember Vernelle.

  15. Margaret and family,
I was saddened to learn of Vernelle’s death when you phoned last week. Vernelle was a favorite cousin. We had a short visit together last fall as we reminisced at the nursing home. Losing one’s mother is difficult. May God bless you and your family.
    Love,
    Mayme

  16. Dear family of Vernelle Hall,
I just learned of Mrs. Hall’s passing July 30, 2011. She taught me in 2nd, 4th and 7th grades at West Buncombe Elementary School. I thoroughly appreciated her as a teacher. Her mother substituted for her when Vernelle married Pete Hall when I was in 7th grade. We students thought it was delightful that Miss Hall became Mrs. Hall! I’m the daughter of the late Burgin and Willie Wright from Olivette Rd. I moved away from NC and became a teacher of mathematics, partly due to the influence of Mrs. Hall. Know that she leaves a great legacy within her students. She taught us well! Thanks.
