So many sweet memories of this great young man, our nephew. I remember taking care of Eric at about 7-8 mo. old when I was so pregnant I looked like I was going to pop,the looks I got with Eric in my arms. I remember teaching Eric to ride a 2 wheeler, peddle Eric, peddle… don’t stop, keep going… you did it. YEA!!! I remember Eric coming to spend time at our house every time the Cahill family made it’s way back to MI. I remember Eric laying on the floor in our livingroom and our Golden Retriever Koby sitting on him. He laughed loud and long. Eric grew up to be a kind and thoughtful young man. I so enjoyed his cooking as Chef Eric at the Lodge when we got to come down at Christmas…As much as this does not make sense. I am thankful that our God is a big, merciful, and loving God who can take this hurt and use it for something good for those of us who love Him, and the assurance that one day we WILL see Eric again, with hair and feeling great, because he trusted Jesus Christ for his salvation and eternal life.
God Keep your Family in His Everlasting Care.
Love and Prayers
Eric was always so friendly to the varied artists of the Studio Tour. He was a wonderful person and you have my sincere condolences.
May you find comfort in the word of God and in the knowledge that others sympathize with you in your loss.
I have only met & spoken with Eric a few times but His kind spirit and joyous demeanor captured my heart immediately. What a wonderful young man. We will miss him…
My heart goes out to his family and close friends. God needed him home with him but I wish He would have left him here longer so we could have had the privilage of his friendship.
Ken and Glenda,
Nobody can feel the depth of your loss or the unrelenting ache in your hearts. We offer our utmost sympathy to you, Beth, and Alex. For the past four years, we have made our annual visit to your Wildberry Lodge. While the Lodge and mountain scenery are spectacular, we always returned because of you two and, naturally, because of Eric as well. Not enough can be said about the wonderful young man he had become … no doubt a reflection of his parents. He was full of life, and he helped bring out so much from all who met him. We laughed harder; we shared more stories and jokes; we felt so at ease and comfortable; and thanks to Chef Eric, we also got fatter eating his delicious food! He was the ‘bomb’ and we shall always miss him and think of him with his larger-than-life smile. We hope you find peace quickly.
With deepest sympathy,
We know that surely Eric is cooking now in Heaven…he brightened up every room he entered with his warm personality. We met Eric when we were having our home built here in Leicester five years ago. While staying for the night @ Wildberry Lodge, Eric told us he was holding down for fort while his folks were at Disney World…we were so charmed by him. Our hearts go out to his wonderful family, and to all who called him a friend. May God bless you all.
Glenda,
We are so sorry to hear of Eric’s passing. Tyford and I remember him well from our visit to Wildberry Lodge. It is clear he was a bright shining star with amazing talent. His blueberry pancakes were wonderful but his ability to make you feel welcome was priceless. He was such a warm and engaging young man. We can not begin to understand your loss but have you and your family in our prayers.
With deepest sympathy,
Kathy & Tyford Beasley

Oh Beth: Please know that our prayers are with you and Alex. We love you. I was so saddened to see Eric on the obituary page. But thank you so much for having it printed in the Morning News. He was a great guy and you two were wonderful together. I know you will miss him terribly. Please come by anytime you are in town. We’d love to give you big hugs. I told the girls. We are all grieving a little. Our hearts go out to you. It is so fortunate that you are relying on God in this. It is hard, but you are strong and you have Eric’s wonderful parents there to help you. Love from us in Florence, Marla, Leah and Crystal and Amanda
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Eric’s friends and family.
