Ernest C. James, Jr.

Ernest C. James, Jr., 86, of Asheville, died Monday, November 14, 2011, at Grace Health Care Center after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Mecklenburg County, but resided in Asheville since 1961. He was a son of the late Ernest C. James, Sr. and Ida Helms James. Also preceding him in death is his wife, Nancy Fariss James, who died September 16, 2008. Mr. James retired from the steel industry after 35 years and was a member of Central UMC. He was a veteran of the US Navy. A memorial service for Mr. James will be held at a later date.
