Guestbook

  1. Ernest was a good friend and my first boss at Winn Dixie. Wanda your mother and father are together again.

  2. Mr. Souther gave me my first job at Winn Dixie over 40 years ago when I was 14 years old. He was so kind and patient with me as I learned. I never forgot him and came to visit him when I came home from college. I lost track of him after he retired and the WD closed. He was a fine, caring man. We will see Mr. Souther again soon. God has a special place for those that love Him, and I know Mr. Souther loved God. You are all in our prayers. May the God of Peace comfort you and keep you.

  3. Wanda and family,so sorry to hear about your Mom and Dad.We did not know about your Mom until Sunday.I worked with Ernest at West gate Winn-Dixie a lot of years. We hunted together and remained Friends over the years. We will keep you in our prayers, Chris And Gilmer Boyd

  4. I would like to say what a joy it was to know your mother and father. We lived in the house that is know apartment beside your parents. That was about 25 years ago. The great times that we had playing in the snow and riding our bikes just to say hello. We have always kept your parents in our hearts and have missed visiting with them.
    God Bless
    Nina, Wade, Curtis Ledford
Vernoncia Maxwell & Our Family who have heard the wonderful stories of the pasture sled rides.

  5. Dear Wanda and Roger, We were saddened to hear of the death of both your parents and want you to know you are in our prayers. It is comforting to know that they no longer suffer but it is still painful to grieve their loss. I know you will miss them greatly. We send our love and the promise of continued prayer for you both. With our love, Eugenia, Laurie and Walter

  6. Mr. Souther as he was known to me back in the 1956 to 59 era was more than a boss. He was a hard worker juggling his many duties at WD, yet he always had time to answer a question and he always treated me with the utmost respect. During our lifetimes we meet many people; most are slowly forgotten over time, but not Mr. Souther. As a youngster growing up and headed toward adulthood back then Mr. Souther was one of those positive guiding lites that encouraged not only me, but all of those who knew him. GOD BLESS YOU AND THANKS BOSS. Allen Smith

  7. Wanda: Your mom and dad were real special to me and I loved them very much. It’s hard to believe they are not with us on earth, but in such a better place with no pains. They never were apart from each other for very long and now they are together again. I loved my Aunt Dot & Uncle Ernest and will miss them. But I have wonderful memories of them that I will carry with me. I will be with you at this time in thoughts and prayers, and may peace be with you, as it is with Aunt Dot and Uncle Ernest. Love you, Dottie Williams (Aunt Bertie’s granddaughter)

  8. My father, Bill Stowe, knew Ernest and Dot for many years. They worked together at Winn Dixie and kept in touch as best they could over the years. I also worked with Dot at Winn Dixie in the late 1960’s. They were truly great people and I know they will be missed by many. So many lives were touched by both your parents during their careers. Our prayers are with you and your families in the loss of both parents in so short a time.
