Essie Buckner Sigmon

Mrs. Sigmon was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late E.A. and Lockie Ann Rhodes Buckner. She was married to the late Lester Bradley and the late Emmett Sigmon. She was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Juanita Corn and her husband Harold, of Asheville; a sister Barbara Ann Burleson, of Orangeburg, SC; three grandchildren, Vicky Stanley and her husbandPhil of Summerville, SC, Kenny Bradley and his wife Theresa of Asheville, and Dale Bradley and his wife Theresa of Mills River; two great-grandchildren, Angie Dickson and her husband David of Summerville, and Shawn Stanley and his wife Autumn of Charleston, SC; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Green Hills cemetery with the Reverend Clark Henderson officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 7-8 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home and request that memorials be made to Mountain Brook Ridge, Inc., 67 Mountain Brook Rd., Asheville, NC 28805, or to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 16, Asheville, NC 28802.
